Junior Programme Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to bookings on Express English College (EEC) junior programmes, including the Junior Summer Programme 2027 (Football, Tennis, and General English with Mixed Activities) for students aged 12–17. They apply together with our General Terms and Conditions. Where these junior terms differ from the general terms, these junior terms apply to the junior booking.

1. Who Can Book

  • Junior programmes are for students aged 12 to 17 at the start of the programme.
  • The booking must be made by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over (or by an agent acting on their behalf). By booking, the parent or guardian accepts these terms on behalf of the student.
  • A signed parental/guardian consent form, a copy of the student’s passport, and the health, dietary and emergency contact information requested by EEC must be provided before the programme starts. EEC may refuse to admit a student if these have not been received.

2. What the Programme Includes

  • English course of 20 lessons (15 hours) per week.
  • Coaching or activity sessions of 10 hours per week, depending on the programme chosen.
  • Residential accommodation in a single en-suite room with full board.
  • Afternoon activities, stadium tours and one full-day excursion each Saturday, as described in the programme.
  • Airport transfers on the programme arrival and departure days, registration, books and learning materials.
  • 24-hour welfare and safeguarding cover.
  • Anything not listed in the programme description (for example flights, visas, insurance and personal spending money) is not included.

3. Dates, Arrival and Departure

  • Programmes start on the Monday dates published for the season. Check-in is on the Sunday before the start date and check-out is on the Saturday after the last day of the programme.
  • Flight details must be sent to EEC before travel so that airport transfers can be arranged. Arrivals or departures on other days may not be possible or may be charged extra.

4. Price and Payment

  • The price is the one shown at the time of booking for the programme, dates and number of weeks chosen.
  • A deposit of 25% of the programme price is payable at the time of booking and secures the place. The place is confirmed when the deposit has been received.
  • The balance (75%) must be paid no later than 60 days before the programme start date. If the balance is not paid on time, EEC may cancel the booking. For bookings made less than 60 days before the start date, the full price is payable at the time of booking.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

  • The cancellation, refund, visa refusal and postponement terms in sections 5 to 8 of our General Terms and Conditions apply to junior bookings.
  • Cancellations must be made in writing by the parent, guardian or agent who made the booking.
  • No refund is given for late arrival, early departure, or for lessons, activities or excursions missed by the student.

6. Welfare, Supervision and Rules

  • Students are supervised by EEC staff during lessons, activities, excursions and at the residence. Students do not travel alone and must follow the instructions of staff at all times.
  • Students must respect the residence curfew and rules, the EEC Student Code of Conduct and UK law. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drugs are not permitted.
  • Parents and guardians must tell EEC before the programme about any medical condition, medication, allergy, dietary requirement or additional need. EEC may refuse a booking if it cannot meet the student’s needs safely.
  • In a medical emergency, where the parent or guardian cannot be contacted in time, EEC staff may consent to urgent medical treatment recommended by a medical professional.
  • More information is in our Welfare of Under 18 Students and Under 18 Handbook.

7. Behaviour and Removal from the Programme

  • EEC may remove a student from the programme for serious misconduct or for behaviour that puts the safety or welfare of the student or others at risk. In that case no refund is given, as set out in section 4 of our General Terms and Conditions.
  • The parent or guardian is responsible for any damage caused by the student and for the cost of the student’s early return home.

8. Changes to the Programme

  • Timetables, activities, coaching sessions, venues and excursions are published as samples and may be changed or replaced because of weather, availability, safety or other circumstances outside our control. EEC will make reasonable efforts to offer a suitable alternative and to tell families about significant changes in advance.
  • Attendance at live matches or events is only offered when a fixture falls within the booked dates and tickets are available.

9. Insurance

10. Photographs and Video

  • EEC may take photographs and video during lessons and activities. We ask for parental consent before using images of students under 18 in promotional material. Parents and guardians can refuse or withdraw consent at any time by writing to us.
